9 min readBy the OffshoreServ team

Key takeaways

  • The offshore VPS market has two price bands: established offshore brands charge two to four times more than the low-cost players.
  • For the 4 vCPU / 8 GB tier, the cheapest comparable offer was $18.00 and the market median $38.90.
  • Few offshore providers sell large VPS plans: only six offered 32 GB of RAM and three offered 64 GB.
  • We left out providers that are sanctioned, or linked to a sanctioned company.
  • Every OffshoreServ VPS plan is priced at 70% or less of the cheapest comparable offer, and the price is the same in all seven locations.

On 25 September 2026, the cheapest comparable offshore VPS we found cost $3.49 a month for 1 vCPU and 1 GB of RAM, $18.00 for 4 vCPU and 8 GB, and $79.99 for 16 vCPU and 64 GB. Market medians were much higher: $38.90 for the 8 GB tier, more than twice the cheapest offer. We compared 21 offshore, crypto-friendly providers; this article shows the numbers tier by tier and explains how we price our own plans.

How we collected the prices

This comparison comes from the competitive audit we ran before launching OffshoreServ. The rules were simple:

  • Scope. Offshore, DMCA-tolerant or no-KYC hosting providers that accept cryptocurrency. For VPS plans, 21 providers were in scope.
  • Source. Each provider's own public pricing page, read on 25 September 2026. No reseller listings, no directories.
  • Price. The regular monthly price. First-month discounts and coupon codes were ignored.
  • Matching. Plans were matched by vCPU count and RAM, with disk size in the same class. Where the disk differs from ours, the table says so.
  • Medians. For each tier from 2 GB to 64 GB of RAM, we took the median price across the providers that sell a comparable plan. No median was computed for the 1 GB tier.

A list price is not the whole cost of a server. Setup fees, bandwidth limits, extra IPv4 charges and support quality vary, and they are not in these tables.

The 21 providers in the sample

1984 Hosting, AbeloHost, AlexHost, BTCVPS, Cockbox, FlokiNET, Incognet, KernelVPS, Koddos, NiceVPS, Njalla, OffshoreDedi, OrangeWebsite, Privex, QloudHost, Servers.guru, Shinjiru, VPSCrypto, VPSPLEX, VSYS and Webcare360.

Together they cover the usual offshore locations, from Iceland and the Netherlands to Moldova, Romania, Malaysia and several others. Not every provider sells every tier, which is why each median below is computed only from the providers offering that size.

Providers we excluded, and why

Some hosts sell cheap servers that no careful buyer should use. We left these out of the benchmark rather than price against them:

ProviderReason for exclusion
AezaDesignated by the US Treasury's OFAC on 1 July 2025 as a bulletproof hosting provider serving ransomware and infostealer operators.
PQ.hostingLinked to Stark Industries, which the EU sanctioned together with its owners on 20 May 2025. PQ Hosting announced on 29 May 2025 that it had ceased to exist as a legal entity and moved its assets to a new brand.

A low price from a sanctioned host is not a bargain. Payments can breach sanctions law, and seizures take every customer offline at once. Our article on offshore versus bulletproof hosting explains the risks.

Prices tier by tier

Specs are written as vCPU / RAM / disk. "Runner-up" is the second-cheapest comparable offer, where the audit recorded one. The tier tables are also available as a CSV file to cite or reuse.

One cheaper 8 GB plan exists: KernelVPS sells 3 vCPU with 8 GB for $13.99. We did not use it as the benchmark because it has one vCPU fewer than the plans above.

The 64 GB median is lower than the 32 GB median. That is not an error: only three providers sell a 64 GB VPS and six sell a 32 GB one, so each median comes from a different, small set of providers. Medians over a handful of offers move with the sample.

Why there are two price bands

The data splits the market in two:

  • Established offshore brands such as FlokiNET, 1984 Hosting, Shinjiru, AbeloHost and OrangeWebsite charge two to four times more than the low-cost players for similar specifications.
  • Low-cost players include VSYS and AlexHost, plus a newer wave of no-KYC brands, such as KernelVPS, VPSCrypto and VPSPLEX, whose prices are close to mainstream cloud providers.

The medians show how wide the gap is. At 2 vCPU and 4 GB, the median is 3.7 times the cheapest offer. At 4 vCPU and 8 GB, it is 2.2 times. Only at 64 GB, where three providers compete, does the gap narrow to about 1.2 times.

We did not audit costs provider by provider, so we will not guess why a specific company charges what it does. In hosting generally, price differences come from a few places: the cost of power and space in the chosen country, whether the provider owns its network or rents it, the depth of support, the capacity to handle legal requests, and the value of a long-established brand. A higher price can buy some of those things. It does not, by itself, buy better legal protection. That depends on the jurisdiction and on the written policy, which our jurisdiction comparison covers.

How OffshoreServ prices its VPS plans

Our rule is public: every plan costs at most 70% of the cheapest comparable offshore offer found in the audit. We multiply that offer by 0.70 and round down: to the tenth of a dollar minus one cent below $10, to the half dollar minus one cent from $10 to $100, and to the dollar minus one cent above $100. The result is always at least 30% below the cheapest offer, and far below the median.

Every offshore VPS plan is a KVM virtual machine with NVMe storage, 1 Gbps unmetered bandwidth under fair use, full root access, custom ISO support, one dedicated IPv4 address and a /64 IPv6 range. It goes live about 60 seconds after you order. The price is the same in all seven locations, there are no setup fees, and DDoS mitigation is included. Quarterly billing takes 5% off and yearly billing 12%.

The same 70% rule sets the prices of our dedicated servers, Windows RDP plans and GPU servers, each against its own benchmark. Near $50 a month, our largest VPS plans meet our smallest dedicated servers: VPS vs dedicated server compares what each buys.

What a price table does not tell you

Price is the easiest thing to compare and rarely the only thing that matters. Before you buy from anyone, including us, check:

  • The abuse policy. A host that tolerates spam and malware gets its IP ranges blocklisted, and your server shares that reputation.
  • The jurisdiction and the complaint process. Where the server runs, and what the host does with a local court order.
  • The refund terms. Our VPS and RDP plans have a 72-hour money-back window on their first period, refunded to your balance, as long as no abuse complaint is pending.
  • The commitment on uptime. Ours is 99.9% monthly network availability, with service credits set out in our SLA.
  • Who actually runs the network. Whether the provider controls its own IP space and upstream relationships.

The bottom line

If you only need a small server, the low-cost band is competitive, and the cheapest offers sit between $3.49 and $18.00 a month up to 8 GB of RAM. Above 16 GB, the choice narrows quickly and medians climb above $100. Our plans start at $2.39 and stay at least 30% under the cheapest comparable offer we found at every size.

Markets move, and this snapshot will age. Prices in this article were collected on 25 September 2026 from providers' public pages and may have changed since.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest offshore VPS in 2026?

In our audit of 21 providers, the cheapest comparable offer for 1 vCPU and 1 GB was $3.49 a month, and for 4 vCPU and 8 GB it was $18.00. Our own plans start at $2.39 a month for the Dinghy VPS, at least 30% below the cheapest comparable offer at every size.

How much does an offshore VPS cost?

For a small server with 1 or 2 GB of RAM, from about $3.50 to $10 a month at the low-cost providers, and two to four times that at established offshore brands. A 4 vCPU, 8 GB plan cost $18.00 at the cheapest and $38.90 at the median.

Why is offshore hosting more expensive than regular hosting?

Offshore providers are smaller, run in fewer data centers, handle legal requests under several laws and cannot spread costs over millions of customers. Crypto-only payment removes card fees but not those costs. Some established brands also charge for their name.

Why is offshore hosting never free?

Free hosting is paid for by ads, data collection or abuse. A free "offshore" server with no identity checks is exactly what spammers and malware operators look for, so its IP addresses end up on blocklists. If an offer is free, you are not the customer.

Is a cheap offshore VPS safe?

Price alone says little. What matters is whether the host enforces an acceptable use policy, publishes its complaint process and is not sanctioned or linked to a sanctioned company. Our guide on whether offshore hosting is safe lists what to check.

Can I buy a cheap offshore VPS without KYC?

Yes. Several low-cost providers ask only for an email address. At OffshoreServ an account is an email and a password, paid in crypto: see our no KYC VPS. Top-ups start at $100 with a +10% bonus.

Host it where the law is on your side.

Offshore VPS, dedicated, RDP and GPU servers in seven jurisdictions. No KYC, paid in crypto.
