Bare metal also removes a layer that every VPS has: no hypervisor runs under your system, as our guide to what a VPS provider can see explains. Encrypt the drives with keys only you hold and unlock them over the IPMI console after a reboot, and a disk that leaves the machine is unreadable.

What is IPMI, and do I get it?
Yes, every server includes IPMI:

Yes. Mining is allowed on dedicated and GPU servers, which are provisioned for you alone. It is not allowed on VPS and RDP plans.
