# Offshore server latency, city by city.

Pick the location closest to your users: choose a city to estimate the round trip to each of our seven jurisdictions. The figures come from distance and typical fiber routes, so treat them as a guide, not a measurement.

20 cities 7 locations Estimates, not measurements

How we estimate

- **Distance**: Great circle, city to city
- **Light in fiber**: ~200 km per ms
- **Real routes vs straight line**: × 1.45
- **Equipment on the path**: + 2 ms
- **Reported figure**: Round trip

Round trip in milliseconds, lower is better. Below about 50 ms, interactive use feels instant; trading and gaming benefit from the lowest figure you can get.

A new VPS or RDP service has a 72-hour money-back window: time enough to measure the real latency from your own connection.

Estimates from distance and typical routes, not measurements. To measure from your own network, try a VPS in that location under the 72-hour money-back guarantee.

## What every server gets from the network.

The same network features on every plan, in every jurisdiction.

- **1 to 10 Gbps ports** — Unmetered: 1 Gbps on VPS, RDP and most servers, 10 Gbps on the 10G build.
- **DDoS mitigation** — Always-on filtering at the edge, included at no extra cost.
- **IPv4 + IPv6** — A dedicated IPv4 address and a /64 IPv6 block per server.
- **Port 25 closed by default** — Keeps our ranges off spam blocklists; opened on request.
- **99.9% availability** — Monthly network availability backed by service credits.
- **No traffic inspection** — No deep packet inspection, no content scanning, no logs of your traffic.

## Test the network yourself.

Estimates are a start. Measure from where your users are before you commit.

1. **Order a small VPS there** — Pick the location you are considering and the smallest plan: it is live about 60 seconds after you order.
2. **Measure from your side** — Run `ping` and `mtr` to it from where your users are, at the hours that matter.
3. **Keep it or get your money back** — VPS and RDP come with a 72-hour money-back guarantee on their first period, refunded to your balance.

## Latency and network, answered.

**Another question?** The full FAQ answers what people ask before an order: payments, privacy, complaints and support.

### How accurate are these estimates?

They model the fiber path from the great-circle distance and a typical routing overhead. Real latency is usually close for well-connected cities, and higher when your provider routes traffic indirectly. Measure before you commit, from where your users are.

### How can I measure the real latency?

From a server of your own. Order the smallest [VPS](https://offshoreserv.com/offshore-vps) in the location you are considering, run `ping` and `mtr` to it from where your users are, and keep it or use the 72-hour money-back guarantee, which refunds its first period to your balance. We do not publish test IP addresses, so that our ranges are not scraped and scanned by bots.

### Which location is best for Europe?

The Netherlands has the lowest latency to most of Western and Central Europe. Switzerland and Romania are close behind; Moldova and Bulgaria are best toward Eastern Europe and the Balkans.

### Which location is best for Asia?

Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur is a few milliseconds from Singapore and well placed for South-East Asia.

### Is bandwidth really unmetered?

Yes. There is no traffic quota on any plan. Shared plans follow fair use; dedicated and 10 Gbps servers are yours to use to their stated capacity.

## Found the right location?

1. Choose a server there
2. Pay in crypto, no ID asked
3. Measure it yourself for 72 hours
